Wood County Schools Summer Learning 2021

Wood County Schools summer programs kick off next week!

On Monday, June 14, high school summer school and the SPARKS program for high school students begin at Wood County’s three public high schools. The programs run from 8:30-11 a.m. Monday through Friday, with breakfast and lunch provided.

On Tuesday, June 15, elementary and middle school programs begin. 

Wildlife Adventures and Math & Literacy Camp for students completing grades k-5 will be held from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at Jefferson Elementary Center. Breakfast and lunch provided. 

Space Camp, our first summer program for middle students completing grades 6-8, will be held from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday each week at Van Devender Middle School. Breakfast and lunch provided. 

Other programs will be held later in the month and in July. Information on all of the county’s summer programs is available online at www.woodcountyschoolswv.com or on the Wood County Schools Facebook page. 

Wood County Schools will feature photos, videos and articles on these programs throughout the summer. Wood County Schools summer programs are supported with federal pandemic relief funds. Wood County Schools has been hailed by the West Virginia Board of Education and Department of Education as a model for summer school programs throughout the state.
