  • ART HONORS CLUB – MRS. MASON, SPONSOR. APPLICATION AND PORTFOLIO REQUIRED. OPEN TO 6th, 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS. DUES - $25.00. MEETS THREE TIMES A MONTH AFTER SCHOOL. COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL RELATED ART PROJECTS AND SERVICE.
  • BUILDERS CLUB – MISS ALLODI, SPONSOR. OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. MEETS ONCE A MONTH AND OFFICERS MEET ONCE A MONTH. COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE KIWANIS CLUB. PAPER RECYCLING IS DONE EVERY FRIDAY DURING HOMEROOM.
  • CHESS CLUB –MR. THOMPSON, SPONSOR. DUES - $3.00. OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. MEETS TWO FRIDAYS OF THE MONTH DURING HOMEROOM PERIOD.
  • CITIZENS IN ACTION CLUB (CIA) –MR. FOSSELMAN, SPONSOR. STUDENTS ARE RECOMMENDED BY TEACHERS IN GRADES 6, 7, AND 8. MR. FOSSELMAN SCHEDULES MEETINGS. CIA STRIVES TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY AWARENESS OF THE ACTIVITIES THAT YOUNG CITIZENS CAN BE INVOLVED IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITIES AND ENVIRONMENTS.
  • FANTASY SPORTS CLUB - MR. COLLINS, SPONSOR. OPEN TO 8TH GRADE STUDENTS, MUST HAVE A 2.0 GPA. STUDENTS COMPETE WITH CLASSMATES BY DRAFTING AND MANAGING FANTASY TEAMS FROM THE NFL, NBA, MLB, AND NCAA.
  • FITNESS CLUB –MR. FOSSELMAN, MRS. FOSSELMAN, SPONSORS. OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. MEETS EVERY OTHER FRIDAY DURING HOMEROOM PERIOD, WEATHER PERMITTING. STUDENTS WALK ON THE TRACK AND LEARN ABOUT FITNESS/HEALTH TOPICS THROUGH GUEST SPEAKERS.
  • FOR CLUB – “FRIENDS OF RACHEL”, MISS GEORGE, MRS. MCDONALD, MISS ALLODI AND MRS. LARSEN, SPONSORS. OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS. STUDENTS PLAN AND PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE KINDNESS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.
  • GOLDEN HORSESHOE STUDY CLUB/GROUP – MRS. LINVILLE, SPONSOR. OPEN TO 8TH GRADE STUDENTS. MEETS EVERDAY AT LUNCH (EXCEPT TUESDAYS), FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH MARCH. STUDY GROUP TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR THE WEST VIRGINIA GOLDEN HORSESHOE TEST.
  • HISTORY BOWL – MRS. LINVILLE, SPONSOR. APPLICATION PROCESS, EIGHT MEMBERS CHOSEN FROM THE EIGHTH-GRADE. MEETS EVERYDAY AT LUNCH (EXCEPT TUESDAYS), IN CONJUCTION WITH GOLDEN HORSESHOE PREPARATION. PRACTICE WEST VIRGINIA HISTORY INFORMATION TO PREPARE FOR REGIONAL MEET. REGIONAL WINNERS MOVE ON TO THE STATE COMPETITION.
  • JOY CLUB – MRS. MASON, SPONSOR. OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. DUES - $7.00. MEETS TWO FRIDAYS A MONTH DURING HOMEROOM PERIOD. JOY CLUB IS A CHRISTIAN FAITH BASED CLUB. DUES ARE FOR SHIPPING CHRISTMAS BOXES TO CHILDREN OVERSEAS.
  • JUNIOR CIVITANS – MR. BOSTON, SPONSOR. OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. DUES - $15.00. MEETS SECOND AND FOURTH THURSDAYS DURING HOMEROOM PERIOD. SERVICE CLUB IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CIVITANS.
  • MATH FIELD DAY – SPONSOR, MR. COLLINS. OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS. STUDENTS TAKE A TEST, QUALIFYING STUDENTS PRACTICE TO COMPETE AT THE COUNTY MATH FIELD DAY COMPETITION, WINNERS AT THE COUNTY LEVEL MOVE ONTO THE REGIONAL MATH FIELD DAY COMPETITION. WINNERS AT THE REGIONAL COMPETITION MOVE ON TO THE STATE COMPETITION. PRACTICE IS AFTER SCHOOL AS DETERMINED BY MR. COLLINS.
  • NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY – MRS. LINVILLE, SPONSOR. 7TH GRADE STUDENTS MUST HAVE A 3.7 GRADE POINT AVERAGE IN ORDER TO BE INVITED TO APPLY. A COMMITTEE OF TEACHERS SELECTS 7THGRADERS AT THE END OF MAY FOR THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL YEAR. MEETINGS ARE HELD ON FRIDAYS DURING HOMEROOM AS NEEDED. THE EMPHASIS OF NJHS IS ON CHARACTER, SCHOLARSHIP, LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE.
  • QUIZ BOWL – MRS. SHEPARD SPONSOR.  OPEN TO ALL GRADE LEVELS TO  TRY-OUT. TEN TO TWELVE STUDENTS ARE SELECTED. TEAM PRACTICES AFTER SCHOOL ONCE A WEEK FROM NOVEMBER THROUGH APRIL. TEAM MEMBERS PREPARE FOR MATCHES AGAINST OTHER SCHOOLS, ALL CONTENT AREAS REVIEWED.
  • SCIENCE BOWL - MRS. SHEPARD AND MR. THOMPSON SPONSORS, OPEN TO GRADES 7 & 8.  STUDENTS TRY-OUT AND PRACTICE OCT-JAN.  IF TEAMS ARE SELECTED THEY COMPETE IN MORGANTOWN IN FEBRUARY.
  • STUDENT COUNCIL – MRS. HILL, SPONSOR. STUDENTS ARE ELECTED TO THE STUDENT COUNCIL BY THEIR CLASSMATES IN GRADES 6, 7, AND 8. MEETINGS HELD ON THURSDAYS DURING HOMEROOM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE STUDENT COUNCIL SPONSORS SEVERAL ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE YEAR AND PROMOTES SCHOOL SPIRIT.
