Blennerhassett Middle

Dear 7th Grade Families, ​Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were informed that Blennerhassett Island cannot host us on April 30th. We have planned a new trip for The Wilds on May 8th to ensure that the 7th grade does not miss out on a field trip this year! A new permission form will be sent home on Monday, April 29th. The deadline to turn in the form and $20 to Mrs. Headley will be Thursday, May 2nd. Your student will be notified on Monday if they have already paid, and further payment will not be needed. However, if the permission slip is not returned, they will be unable to attend the new trip, and there will be no refunds issued. We apologize for any inconvenience.

8th Graders - Reminder tomorrow is the 8th grade field trip. BMS dress code is required. Students not dressed appropriately will remain at school. No refund will be given.

Staff Appreciation Week - May 6th - May 10th We are collecting $10 gift cards/certificates to various local restaurants, gas stations, businesses, Amazon, etc to show our staff how much we appreciate them. If you would like to donate, please send in a gift card to the BMS office by May 6th. Thank you for your help!

It is almost time for Penny Wars!! Penny Wars will be next week (April 29-May 3). Here is a quick run down of how it works: -Each morning there will be two jugs for each country set up in the cafeteria -One jug is for pennies and the other jug is for silver coins and paper money -Pennies count as POSITIVE for your country and silver/paper money count as NEGATIVE -So you should put pennies in your own country's jug and put silver and paper money in other country's jugs

Olympic Shirt money is due by April 30th! Money needs turned in to your child's Advisory teacher. Student shirts are $6 and volunteer shirts are $10.

Who's Ready for the Olympics??? Our Annual BMS Olympics will be June 3rd and June 4th. We are looking for volunteers to help run stations, provide snacks and/or drinks, monitor hallways, etc. If you are interested in volunteering, please use the QR code below to sign up. All volunteers MUST have an updated, approved background check on file with Wood County Schools.

Buses may be delayed this morning due to high water in several areas across the county. We appreciate your patience as we work to safely pick up and deliver students this morning.

8th Grade Parents ~ Please make sure your child charges their iPad this evening. All 8th grade students will be taking the Golden Horseshoe Test tomorrow (Wednesday). Thank you for your help with this.

All Wood County Schools after-school and evening activities will be CANCELLED tonight (Tuesday, April 2, 2024) due to incoming inclement weather. Schools will dismiss at their normal times today.

All after school activities at Blennerhassett Middle School are being cancelled for this evening (Tuesday, April 2nd). This includes track, softball, and talent show practice, as well as tutoring.

After School Tutoring for today (Tuesday, April 2nd) is cancelled due to possible weather threats.

Good Afternoon! With the Springlike weather coming our way, I wanted to remind students and parents about our Blennerhassett Middle School dress code expectations. Tank tops, crop tops, short shorts (where the pockets are longer than the shorts) or shorts/jeans with excessive holes in them are not permitted. Thank you for helping to ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately each day.
