fafsa

Hello Students,

After months of stops and starts, we are now able to receive and process FAFSAs from the Department of Education.  Unfortunately, approximately 20% of the FAFSAs already received contain errors – mostly missing signatures - that will need to be corrected.  The good news is the information we learned from our initial review of the FAFSAs with errors has helped us to identify the specific areas that are causing these errors which means WE CAN HELP YOU correct the errors if you have already filed.  For those of you who have not yet completed your FAFSA, we can walk you through the process and help you answer the questions correctly so you can avoid common errors.

It is important to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible but before June 15, 2024, so that you can receive all of the federal financial aid you are eligible to receive.  If you need to complete your FAFSA, please come to the Center for Students Services and tell them you need help with your FAFSA.  Our financial aid staff is ready to help you.

If you filed a FAFSA already, please check your WVUP email for information about errors in your FAFSA that need to be corrected.  We can also help you with this process but you have to reach out to us.

Please ACT NOW and visit us.  Let us help you get all of the federal financial aid you are eligible to receive.  A face-to-face visit is best but If you cannot come in, we can meet with you via Zoom or phone and walk you through the process.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to come in as well.

Today, Governor Justice declared a State of Emergency for Higher Education to make it easier for you to get the State Financial Aid you are qualified to receive if you are a West Virginia resident.  Once we have all of the details, we will send more information.  If you need any assistance with financial aid at all, please call the WVUP Financial Aid Office at 304-424-8310, email us at finaid@wvup.edu, or call the West Virginia Financial Aid Hotline at 1-877-987-7664.
