Good evening Emerson families. On May 23 our PTA is hosting a 2K Fun Run, filled with fun, laughter and lots of COLOR! Our students will have the chance to run (or walk) around the track prior to a public run at 5:30 p.m. More information about the student portion of this special event will be sent home in the coming days, along with an application to participate. In the meantime, help us get the word out about our public event by sharing this event with friends and family.

Our BOGO book Fair starts tomorrow. Students will get the opportunity to shop for books during their STEAM and PE specials class. We will also have Parent Shopping times after school starting at 3:00 Monday, Tuesday and Friday. You can set your child up with an eWallet using the link below. Save the date! We are having our final book fair for the school year. This is a BOGO fair. Everything in the fair is buy one get one (of equal or lesser value) free.

Buses may be delayed this morning due to high water in several areas across the county. We appreciate your patience as we work to safely pick up and deliver students this morning.

The YMCA daycare IS open and picking up students today. It is school based daycares that are closed.

All Wood County Schools after-school and evening activities will be CANCELLED tonight (Tuesday, April 2, 2024) due to incoming inclement weather. Schools will dismiss at their normal times today.

Good afternoon Emerson families, Our monthly House Party will be this Friday. We will be hosting a community health fair for our students. Please make sure your child wears their House Shirts. Thanks and have a wonderful evening.

Thank you everyone who tried out for track- unfortunately we had almost 100 students tryout so there had to be cuts. The list of who made the team is posted on the front door of Emerson.

Emerson families- don't forget that we have food and hygiene items available in our outdoor pantry. Feel free to take what you may need. You may also use our box to share non-perishable food and hygiene products with others.

Calendar update: In order to account for missed school days due to inclement weather, students will now attend school on May 31 as well as June 3 and 4. Preschool will attend May 28 and 29. For staff, June 5 will be a curriculum development day (students do not attend) and June 6 will be a day to prepare for the end of the school year (students do not attend).

Freeze Dried Candy Fundraiser order form is going home today! The money raised will be going toward our playground.

Good morning Emerson families. We are excited to have the opportunity to provide our students with a five day shelf stable meal kit during Spring Break. IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Wood County Board of Education will meet in special session Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, to conduct candidate interviews and appoint an interim board member to a vacant seat. The board has consulted with the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wood County Clerk’s Office and has been advised, due to election cycle deadlines, a selection must be made by February 12, 2024. The online application period for those interested in applying for the interim position will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 12. The board meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. to announce the candidates and interviews will begin at 6:00 p.m. An appointment announcement will follow the completion of the interviews on February 12. Those submitting an application by Sunday, February 11, will be informed of their interview time before 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12. Applicants submitting applications on Monday, February 12, will be contacted as applications are received throughout the day to have interviews arranged for that evening.

There is still time to order a yearbook for the discounted rate. After February 1st the prices go up by $1.

Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, January 22, 2024.
