Heavy rain and flooding are affecting student transportation. Our team is working on rerouting where possible. Expect delays for bus riders in flood-prone areas. Safety is Wood County Schools' first priority.

Wood County Schools Special Education Office will be destroying special education records of all former special education students with a graduation date prior to and including 2019. Files prior to 2018 have already been shredded. Former students or legal guardians who would like to obtain the student file may contact Wood County Schools Special Education Office, 1210 13th Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101, at (304) 420-9655, no later than Monday, September 8, 2025.

Field day reminders:
Students will be outside so they should either have sunscreen on or bring their own that they can apply.
If you have filled out the form to volunteer, please come around to the back of the building. We will have a sign in table there for you.
For those who are volunteering in the afternoon only, you can check in at the office.
Only adults with approved background checks will be able to volunteer.
Thank you

Good afternoon, this is Mr Hardman Principal at Emerson Elementary School. The track meet for the boys this evening has been postponed. I apologize for the late notice but we just received the information from the league. Both the boys and girls meet will now occur tomorrow starting at 6:00. The meet will take place at PHS.
Thank you and have a great evening.

The Book Fair is just 1 week away. This is a great time to set up your child's ewallet. Not familiar with an ewallet, this is a way for your child to spend money at the book fair without sending cash to school with them. This video will go through the steps to create an ewallet for your student. Mrs. White will print off the list of students who have an ewallet at the start of each morning.
This fair is a BOGO fair so absolutely everything is Buy one get one.

Last week, students had the opportunity to attend Lawrence's Greene's African Hand Drum Presentation. It was sponsored by Artsbridge and allowed students and staff the chance to learn about and play different types of hand drums. Everybody seemed to enjoy it. Thank you Artsbridge for this wonderful opportunity.

Mark your calendars.... game day is back on for Thursday, February 27 from 12:45-1:45 for 2nd grade. Please join us for this fun event!
