Our PTA COLOR RUN is today! Parents are welcome to attend and must sign in with the main office first. If parents wish to sign their child out towards the end of the day they must sign them out from the main office as students who leave early must always be accounted for. A reminder for your child to wear clothes that may get dirty.

GRIZZLY NEWS!
Our PTA sent home an optional fundraising packet yesterday/today for "Charleston Wrap" which offers a variety of items for purchase online. Proceeds go to our PTA to support our students and school. Contact PTA officers with any questions.
A reminder that our PTA Color Run will take place this Thursday during the school day. All students will participate whether raising monies or not so please have them dress in sneakers/shoes, shorts and a light colored shirt as students will get covered in colored chalk at the end of their Color Run. The chalk may come off, or it may discolor the clothes so please keep this in mind. Please don't wear your "Sunday Best". Please turn in your sponsorship forms Thursday.

The away Girls Basketball game scheduled for tomorrow night has been cancelled and rescheduled for this Friday as follows:

Greenmont Girls versus Franklin girls beginning at 4:45pm at Gihon Elementary School.

Grizzlies! Please come and support the Lady Grizzly basketball team as we take on Williamstown Tuesday (tomorrow) in the Greenmont gymnasium beginning at 5:45pm.

A few announcements for the upcoming weeks....
1. PREK & KG parents packing cold lunch should please pack food in containers their children can open. An option may be to pack items in Ziploc baggies as kids can open them easier.
2. Please pull up as far as you can along the curb in the morning as we can unload more students safely.
3. Please do not park across the street and walk your kids in front of traffic.
4. Please position your kids so that they exit the car next to the curb and not in front of cars.
5. Volunteer forms are required for classroom volunteers and chaperones. Find these on our school and county websites.
6. First Girls Home Basketball game 5:45 pm on 9/16/25
7. PTA meeting after school at 3:15 pm on 9/17
8. MID-TERMS go home 9/18/25. Please be sure you are monitoring your child's assignments frequently and contact teachers immediately with any questions. Please be proactive with your child's schoolwork.

Our PTA is hosting a HAT DAY tomorrow at Greenmont! All proceeds will go directly to our PTA in order to provide opportunities for our students. If students wish to wear a hat all day on Friday, September 5 they must bring $1 to school and pay the people in the gym collecting money. We will announce how much money is collected at the end of the day. Thank you for supporting our PTA.

We had a great start to our school year and I hope everyone enjoys their three day weekend. We will have an LSIC/Safety Team meeting in our library on Thursday, September 4 beginning at 3:15 pm. All are welcome to attend as we plan out the year ahead. I look forward to seeing everyone Tuesday morning!

🚸📚 School starts tomorrow in Wood County! Please be mindful of changing traffic conditions as buses return to the roads and students walk to school. Safety must be our top priority—slow down, stay alert, and help keep our children safe! 🚌👣

Greenmont Parents, Greenmont has a large wooden piano that is FREE to a good home. If you would like this FREE piano, please contact Mr. Ubbens via email bubbens@k12.wv.us. You must haul the piano yourself.

FIELD DAY REMINDERS. We ask students to please bring a water bottle with their name on it, comfy shoes to change in/out of, sunglasses, hat and sunscreen, towel, and lunch in a disposable bag- Parents may sign in with their ID beginning at 9:00am in the office or KG end gates.

Heavy rain and flooding are affecting student transportation. Our team is working on rerouting where possible. Expect delays for bus riders in flood-prone areas. Safety is Wood County Schools' first priority.

Greenmont Fifth Grade Parents, This is a reminder for fifth grade parents or the designee to please pick up their child from Grand Pointe at 12:00 pm. Students will then be signed back into school when they return. If parents wish to have their child go home at the end of the volleyball game they must sign them back out in the office.

Wood County Schools Special Education Office will be destroying special education records of all former special education students with a graduation date prior to and including 2019. Files prior to 2018 have already been shredded. Former students or legal guardians who would like to obtain the student file may contact Wood County Schools Special Education Office, 1210 13th Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101, at (304) 420-9655, no later than Monday, September 8, 2025.

Grizzlies, Tomorrow's Awards ceremony begins at 8:30 am. We will recognize students for track, archery and class awards. Academic and attendance awards will be mailed with end of the year materials the week of June 16. This ceremony will be brief. The Fourth Nine Weeks reward activity is a movie in the gym at 1:00 pm. Students may bring a blanket or towel to lay on. Thank you PTA for sponsoring this activity.

Grizzlies! Today's PTA dance begins immediately after school and ends promptly at 5:00pm. The final song ends at 4:50 pm. Parents must come into the gym at 4:50 pm to pick up their child from PTA staff. Thank you for supporting our school and students.

A reminder that the BOGO BOOK FAIR is this week! Also, our PTA Spring Dance is this Thursday from 3:10-5:00 (PLEASE PICK UP STUDENTS PROMPTLY AT 5:00 pm). We hope to see everybody then! *Please return permission slips to your child's homeroom teacher NLT Thursday morning.
