Pet Item Donation Thank You

Good evening, Jackson families!

This is Mr. Echard Principal of Jackson Middle School... We have been hosting a pet drive to help the Humane Society of Parkersburg this week. The HSOP will be here for our PBIS fall festival next Wednesday afternoon. As a result, we would like to present them with as many supplies as possible. TOMORROW, Friday, Oct 10, is the last day for your students to bring in supplies for this cause.

The supplies needed are as follows:

·         Purina One kitten food

·         Purina One cat food

·         Purina One dog food

·         Purina dog chow

·         Non-clumping cat litter

·         Fresh News cat litter

·         Durable dog toys

·         Cat toys

·         Friskies canned cat food

As a bonus, this is also an Olympic event. That means the countries who bring in the most pet supplies will receive points towards the Olympics held at the end of the year.

Thank you so much for your help in making this a successful pet drive!

Jackson students will be receiving their bus ID's tomorrow during Homeroom. They will need the ID's to scan on and off the bus. We are encouraging students to take a picture of the ID just in case they misplace the card. Students can use the picture to scan on and off of the bus. Please contact the school with questions.

Good afternoon, after listening to concerns from students and parents, we have decided to allow students to use all types of water bottles. Wood County is currently developing a water bottle policy that will be implemented in the near future. Jackson Middle School will follow the County policy once it is in place.

Good morning,
This is Mr. Echard principal of Jackson Middle School. In an assembly last week, we set new expectations for our students.
1. No Gum
2. Clear Water Bottles
3. No open toe shoes or sandals
4. No writing on themselves or others
I understand that some of these rules are inconvenient and may have caught you off guard and I apologize for the lack of communication home. I have asked teachers and staff to be lenient on these new rules until next Tuesday.
Students are allowed to have different types of water bottles at lunch but cannot have them in the classroom. If they have something other than a clear water bottle it must be kept in their locker until lunch and then returned to their locker after lunch.
Students will need footwear that covers their toes and secures to the back of their heels. All students will have a gym class at some point in the year, and they have intramurals every day. They cannot participate in these activities without the proper footwear. Secure footwear is also needed in the event of an emergency situation.
Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and lack of communication. I will do a better job communicating changes moving forward.
I hope you have a great day and Let’s go Generals!!!!

🚸📚 School starts tomorrow in Wood County! Please be mindful of changing traffic conditions as buses return to the roads and students walk to school. Safety must be our top priority—slow down, stay alert, and help keep our children safe! 🚌👣
