This is PHS with an important message to all parents and students. If you have an appointment today for parent teacher conferences please use the main entrance to the school. All doors will be locked and secure. In order to enter the building you must have valid identification and an appointment. If you do not have an appointment and would like one with one of your student's teachers please call the school at 304-420-9595. We know it isn't convenient, but we always think safety first at all times and we will never allow inconvenience to trump safety of all stakeholders while we our open for business. If you have an appointment with a PE/Health teacher you may buzz in at the field house and then report to the field house office upstairs. Parent teacher conferences are today from 11-645. We will have limited staff from 8-11 this AM due to the flex in our open hours. Thank you for understanding!

This information is for all stakeholders: 1-We be having some issues with our main phone line calling in. It is being addressed. If you have a concern and can not get through please email us instead. 2-For the last 4 years, PHS has hired a security company to help Vet those coming in and out of the back parking lot. So that you are prepared as a parent, or student, or staff member, here are the expectations: The security guard will work 730-3 daily while students are present. From 730-8 in the morning, parents will be allowed to drop off students in the back. After 8am all students must be dropped off at the main entrance in the horseshoe. No one will be allowed past the guard unless you have a parking permit, or you are visiting the health clinic. I know there are many parents that like to come in the back lot and park to pick up after school. You can still do that but not passed the guard until 3:00. Also any student who drives to and from school will have to have their parking pass tag displayed, a copy of their schedule if they leave campus to go to Tech, Caperton, or WVUP and they will have to show their pink slip if they have an appointment. At PHS we take safety and security very seriously. Inconvenience will never trump the importance of attempting to keep our students and staff safe. Also, as a reminder, no students should be in their cars during lunch due to the community having access to the Coplin Center and parents all food or things you need to drop off needs to be done through the secure entrance at the front of the school. Please do not just pull up and your student walk outside. Please park, come in, and drop off the food. Remember you can only bring food for your student and not anyone else. All outside food deliveries not from a parent will be confiscated or turned away. That means we do not allow things like Door Dash or Dominos or anyone else bring food to the school for students. Thank you for understanding that we just don’t want anyone to be allowed to freely come and go in the back lot without following the proper procedures in place. If you have any further question please give us a call.

The WVDE will be visiting three Wood County Schools for a special education on-site monitoring in October, and Parkersburg High School has been randomly selected.
