2 hour delay schedule

Teams meetings today January 28 based on this schedule.
This is Kenny DeMoss principal Parkersburg high school with an important message for all staff students and parents. Currently our school has a boiler issue and we have no Internet or heat. So with that being said all students will be going home for the day, buses will be turning around. If your student is already here we will make arrangements for them to call you and have you come pick them up. Teachers will be going elsewhere and they will be doing remote instruction by the two hour delay schedule. So students make sure you have your 2 hr delay schedule and you follow it. Attendance is required. If you have any further questions please email me at kdemoss@k12.wv.us. Thanks.

With a full week under our belt, I wanted to remind everyone about our security guard out back. You must have a parking tag as a student or employee to park in the back parking lot. No student should be leaving for lunch. If you have to leave for the Tech or Caperton center you need to make sure that you have a copy of your schedule with you. If you need to leave for an appointment you need to have a copy of your pink slip With you in order to leave. Failure to have a copy of your schedule, have a pink slip, and/or have/not have your parking tag will result in you not being able to enter or leave the lot based upon the situation. Please help us keep you safe by following the guidelines in place. Also parents if you need to drop anything off to your student it must come through our new main entrance in the horseshoe. Also, if you’re picking up your student for an appointment they must sign out through the man trap and exit the front of the building. Thank you and have a wonderful evening. KD

Good afternoon. This message is only for High Schools. Due to Monday being a holiday, we will wait until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18 to review the WVDHHR map to find out the status of instruction in our High Schools for the upcoming week. If we are "Red" on the map, we will be in remote learning for the entire week. If we are "Orange", students with last names L-Z will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 19. I will send out more communication tomorrow regarding Tuesday's re-entry for all students. Stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful holiday.

Good Evening. This is a reminder that students with last names L-Z will attend school in-person beginning Tuesday, January 19. We will be utilizing a very similar blended learning format as we did 1st semester. However, by our Governor’s Executive Order, High Schools will not be able to return to in-person learning until we reach the orange status on the WVDDHR daily map. To learn more about our re-entry plan and other learning options you may have, please visit our website at www.woodcountyschoolswv.com . Please stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful weekend.

Good evening. On January 19, 2021, students will return to in-person instruction in our schools.  However, I fully understand that some students and families are uncomfortable about returning to school in-person.  To provide more opportunities for our students,  WCS is requesting all students wishing to be instructed in an off-campus learning model, outside of our schools for the second semester, complete the form attached in this correspondence or visit the Wood County Schools website for more information.   Depending on the number of students wishing to be instructed off-campus, we may have the ability to offer families and students different choices rather than just the WV Learns- Virtual School program.  Once again, if you wish for your child to be instructed off-campus second semester, please complete the enrollment form.  The form is due by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021. Thank you and have a great evening.    Click here to complete the form https://tinyurl.com/y5r337nx
