The Wood County Schools Student Advisory Council gathered this week for its annual end-of-the-year luncheon, marking the close of another successful school year. The event celebrated the hard work and dedication of the student representatives who have served as vital liaisons between their schools and the Wood County Schools Board of Education. Board Member, Debbie Hendershot, and Director of Secondary Schools, Ken Cook, advisors to the group, attended the luncheon as well.
Throughout the year, council members met monthly to share both concerns and celebrations from their respective schools, offering valuable insight and student perspectives to district leadership. Their ongoing dialogue with the board office has helped foster a stronger connection between students and administrators, ensuring student voices are heard in decision-making processes.
The luncheon served not only as a celebration but also as a thank-you to the students for their commitment to leadership, communication, and positive change within Wood County Schools.
