Members of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) from the Wood County Technical Center are asking for donations of gently worn and used shoes or new shoes for our drive. Please support NTHS, our community, and communities around the world! Drop shoes off at 1515 Blizzard Drive, Parkersburg, WV. NTHS Shoe Donation Drive
The Student Councils for the Wood County Technical Center and the Caperton Center for Applied Technology are asking for your help for our Christmas Donation Drive for the Family Crisis and Intervention Center. Join our drive to help victims of domestic violence and their families! Donations should be received by December 17th. Please do not donate clothing as the center does not have enough storage room. They do need donations of snack foods, non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items, bed pillows and cleaning supplies. Thank you!

Donation Drive - Student Council

Wood County Prevention Coalition · Promoting Positive Youth Development! - Bowling Bash to Strike Out Drugs - This event is directed towards our youth and student aged populations. Prizes awarded to the top elementary, middle, and high school bowlers. Free bowling, pizza, drinks, and T-shirts. 4 to 6 bowlers per Lane. Limited two adults per Lane. The event will be held on November 15 from 1 PM to 3 PM. Registration opens at 12:30 PM. The event will be held at Pike Street Lanes at 2605 Pike Street in Parkersburg.

Thanks to: Jordan Stewart and Jesse King from West Virginia Division of Forestry for visiting and educating the Fire and Emergency Management classes at the Caperton Center campus. The students learned about job opportunities, wildfire safety, tools of the trade, exposure protection, containment and suppression techniques. They were also given the opportunity to cut a fire line and practice deploying an emergency shelter.

Pasta Fundraiser for Skills USA

Students started their first project in POE (Principles of Engineering) class. They are designing and building a new shoe from cardboard and foam. This project will have the students brainstorm a solution, build, test, and make modifications to their design. Durability is not required since it is being made from cardboard and foam.
