Recently, Wood County Technical Center and the Caperton Center for Applied Technology welcomed the Carpenter's Union, Laborer's Union and the Electrical Union to our campus. Six of our skilled students signed to apprentice with each of these unions to advance their skills in their chosen field. Congratulations to them all!

The students participated in an obstacle course against other technical schools. Two students - Evan Kent and Ian Osborn - won gift cards their quick work through the course.

The Criminal Justice class at the Wood County Technical Center - Caperton Campus travelled to Moundsville Penitentiary to learn about its history and about inmate life. The prison closed its doors in 1995 when the Supreme Court ruled it violated the 8th Amendment for cruel and unusual punishment.
