We are pleased to share that contractors are finishing up their work at Edison Middle School, and the building will be ready for students and staff to return tomorrow, Friday, August 21.
Classes will resume on a normal schedule.
Thank you to our Edison families for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we worked to resolve this issue and ensure the school was ready for students to return safely.
Edison Middle School Closure Update Due to the ongoing repairs related to sewer line issues at Edison Middle School, it is necessary for the school to remain closed today, Thursday, August 20. Crews are continuing to work to resolve the issue. The drain line serving the building may also be impacting other facilities, including restrooms. Once repairs are completed, the affected areas will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to ensure the building is safe and ready for students and staff. We understand the inconvenience this may cause families and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to address the situation properly. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

Middle, High, and WCTC/Caperton hours: 5-7 p.m.

Wood County Schools will continue to closely monitor conditions related to the Peoples Cartage Warehouse fire and any potential impact on our school campuses. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we will continue working with local and state agencies to evaluate conditions and provide updates if necessary.

Join us for the Golden Ticket Summer Reading Challenge Kick-Off Event on Thursday, June 4, from 4:00–5:00 PM at Jefferson Elementary School!
