Parents of HMS 6th graders: A reminder note will be sent home on Friday, May 1st with any 6th grader who does NOT have a record on file for the required 7th grade TDap and MCV4 immunizations. The TDap and MCV4 shots are required to be completed before the first day of 7th grade. Please get those completed at your earliest convenience and/or return a shot record to the HMS school nurse. If you have questions, please contact the nurse. Thank you!

Reusable Water Bottle Reminder
As the weather warms up, students will have more opportunities to be outside for recess. Please remember to send a reusable water bottle with your child each day so they can stay hydrated throughout the school day. Water bottle filling stations are available for both students and staff to refill as needed. Thank you for your help in keeping our students healthy and hydrated!

8th Graders are currently fundraising for end of the year activities. They will be holding a Bingo April 25th, paper forms will be sent home this week/Monday. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated! I am attaching the flyer for Bingo donations as well as a QR code to donate directly to the fund if you would like to do so! GSA Testing

Due to snowy and icy conditions impacting a significant portion of the southern part of Wood County, Wood County Schools will now be closed today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026. While some areas of the county may not be experiencing the same conditions, roadways in other areas remain hazardous. Because our buses and families travel across many different communities and road conditions, this decision was made to prioritize the safety of all students and staff throughout the entire county. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure everyone can travel safely.

Due to various road conditions throughout the county, Wood County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Important Update Regarding the End of the School Year: We are pleased to share that the West Virginia Department of Education has granted Wood County Schools a waiver for three instructional days. As a result of this approval, the last day of school for students will remain Tuesday, June 2, 2026 — no changes have been made to the previously published school calendar. No further action is needed on your part. Please make note of this date as you plan for summer childcare, activities, and travel. Hamilton Track and Field begins Monday, March 2nd 3:30-5:30. This is a non-tryout sport. All students who are interested are welcome to join! Students must have a physical on file to participate. Please bring practice clothes for all weather conditions and come prepared to run!

CORRECTION: Wrestling Jamboree for today, February 6, 2026 at Blennerhassett Middle School has been cancelled. As of now, the Wrestling Jamboree is still on for Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Blennerhassett Middle School.
