Writing Assessment (Writing General Summative Assessment aka State test) schedule for the week of
May 10-14.

Tomorrow will be the Grade 5 Science General Summative Assessment (state test). Get plenty of rest and be on time. You’ve got this!

As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to personally say ‘Thank You’ to all of Wood County Schools’ selfless and dedicated educators.
This has been one of the most challenging school years in recent history. Our teachers have not only endured nearly impossible tasks but have risen to the challenge and have continued to place our students first. Our teachers and personnel have dedicated countless hours keeping students engaged, providing support and care to families, and giving our children a beacon of normalcy in an often turbulent and uncertain world. The work you do each day is more appreciated than you will ever know.
Wood County Schools is blessed to have so many caring and dedicated teachers, and I want all of you to know: We see what you are doing and what you have done, and we are thankful you are here.
Thank you for making a difference!

GSA (General Summative Assessments -aka state tests) begin tomorrow for grade 5 in mathematics at JEC. Grade 4 tests on Wednesday and Grade 3 on Thursday.
We know your tests WILL BE GREAT! Show what you know!

Get plenty of rest- be on time- and DO YOUR BEST ON THE TEST! State testing (GSA) begins Tuesday at JEC.

Happy Easter! Enjoy your last day of spring break and this beautiful weather. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces tomorrow!
As we return to school tomorrow, please have your child’s iPad charged and packed. We would also like all students K-5 to return the charging cubes and cords so that we can begin to keep iPads at school. It is important that we ensure all devices are on site, charged and in good working condition (as we do not have loaner iPads if one is left at home). Thank you for your support in ensuring your child’s academic success!

Friday, March 26 is HAT DAY.
Please wear a hat and donate a $1.00.
ALL money collected will go to Wood County Society.
Jefferson Elementary Center has been donating money to this cause for several years. It is nice to see our school name on TV showing that the students at JEC donated to this wonderful event.

A HUGE shout-out to Assistant Principal Rick Dobson for his continued efforts to bring archery to JEC.

Thanks Mr Dobson for all you’ve done to make this dream a reality!
