*Student Test Scores* In spring 2023, students in Grades 3 through 8 took the General Summative Assessment and students in Grade 11 took the SAT School Day assessment. On Tuesday, September 12, students will receive a printed copy of their individual student score report which will contain information regarding each student's performance on the tested areas. To further assist parents/guardians in understanding their child's performance on the WVGSA or the SAT School Day, the West Virginia Department of Education is providing an individual video score report for each student in addition to the printed report.. A link to your child's individual video score report will be sent to your child's K12 student email address on September 12th. Please work with your student to access the link in the email. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a site where you will need to enter your child's date of birth to access the video report. Resources are also available at that site to help your student. If you need assistance in locating the video score report link, or if you do not know your child's K12 email address or password, you may contact your child's school, or contact Cathy Grewe at the Wood County Schools Board Office at 304-420-9663 Extension 122.

In middle school, there are different rotations that students are engaged in throughout the course of the year. Here are the rotations for the upcoming school year. A common question seems to be about developmental reading and math enrichment. This is a rotation course designed for all students. In these rotations, we work on strengthening skills beyond the grade level content, no matter if a student is high or low in their current levels. They have been in place for several years. Sometimes a student may miss a rotation if they are in a music program, or taking a high school foreign language class. Most middle schools in the county have a math and reading "block" in their schedule, which we do not have because our bell schedule in middle school and high school is the same. To ensure we continue to be at the top of GSA and i-ready diagnostics, we incorporate these rotations to further strengthen individual skills. https://5il.co/21ze6

Update on scheduling: We are now set up for students to come in before open house to get their schedules! On Monday (Aug 14th) and Tuesday (Aug. 15th) from 8:30 - 11:30, all students can come in to pick up their schedules. 9th-12th grade will be in the lobby at the front of the school. Mrs. Justice will be available on site to work on any corrections that may be needed. Grades 6-8 can pick up their schedules in the middle school office at the same time, and Mrs. Sturm will available for any corrections that may be needed. We are getting excited to soon begin another great school year!
