From Band Director Mr. Jed Corra Hello upcoming 6th & 7th Grade Students, If you were in band last year, but did not sign up to take band this school year and still want to please let Mr. Corra know. The end of the past school year was a confusing time and there may have been some students who did not get to sign up for band, but would like to continue. There are also students who might not have got the chance to participate in the past, but would like to learn and get involved with the band program at WHS. The musical arts is a great opportunity for students to express themselves in a positive way and in many ways helps the student recharge to be more focused for the rest of the school day. Also just a reminder the band class does not conflict with sports or other extracurriculars. Our rehearsals take place during school and in a normal school year we only have two concerts after school. There are extracurricular band activities that they can begin to join in 8th grade, but those are optional. Please contact Mr. Corra at jedidiah.corra@k12.wv.us or call the school at 304-375-6151 and leave a message. The band program at WHS is growing musically and hopes to continue to grow in size as well.
