
First year Medical Skills students from the Wood County Technical Center spent an incredible afternoon touring the health classrooms and labs at Washington State Community College. A highlight for everyone was the time spent in the human donor lab.


Why Career Technical Education (CTE)? This is a question every student and parent should be exploring. CTE opens multiple doors into future possibilities for students. Don't take our word for it, our students have voice and use it everyday answering the question, "Why CTE?"


A huge congratulations to Brooke Oliver for placing 1st Place (Gold) in the recent WV SkillsUSA competition in the area of First Aid/CPR. Brooke is a student in the Emergency and Fire Management Program at the Caperton Center for Applied Technology. Thank you to the instructor Jim Reynolds for his dedication to his students.

February 6 - 10 is National School Counseling Week! Wood County Schools recognizes the importance of school counseling programs and values and appreciates all of our excellent and committed school counselors.

Monday, February 6, 2023 will be a Professional Learning Day for employees. Students will not attend classes. Classes will resume on Tuesday at normal times.

Due to worsening road conditions, Wood County Schools will now be closed today, Tuesday, January 31st. There will be no classes. 261-day employees are to report two hours later than their normal start time.

Wood County Schools will be on a two-hour delay today, Tuesday, January 31st, due to weather conditions. All buses and classes will operate two hours later than normal. Employees will report to work one hour later than their normal start time.
