PARKERSBURG, WV — Van Devender Middle School is proud to invite the community to a truly special and historic event—the final Spring Band and Choir Concert in the school’s history. The concert will take place on Thursday, May 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Vandy gymnasium, marking a bittersweet celebration of the school’s long-standing musical legacy.
This memorable evening will showcase the incredible talents of both the Vandy band and choir students, who have worked tirelessly throughout the semester to prepare for this farewell performance. In honor of the school’s rich musical tradition, former directors Cody Ratliff (choir), Marsha Parsons (choir), Sheila Wiseman (band), and Shaun Davis (band) will return to conduct select pieces—an emotional tribute to the program’s past and the community it has inspired.
The evening will conclude with a heartfelt performance of the VMS alma mater, uniting the band and choir students in one final, powerful moment of school spirit.
The community is encouraged to attend, reconnect, and help fill the gym one last time to honor the students, faculty, and legacy of Vandy’s music program. A few surprises are also planned for the evening to make the final send-off even more unforgettable.
Join us on May 8th at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the music, memories, and magic of Van Devender Middle School. All alumni, friends, and community members are welcome. Let’s make this final concert one to remember.
