West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner recently stopped by Parkersburg High School to encourage students to take part in the voting process as they become eligible for the 2026 election cycle. His visit is part of a statewide effort to meet with seniors across West Virginia and promote early voter registration. During the presentation, Warner spoke with students about the value of civic participation and West Virginia’s connection to the 26th Amendment, which lowered the voting age to 18. He noted that visiting schools has proven to be an effective way to help young adults understand the importance of their vote and to get registered before graduation. Warner shared that more than 2,000 seniors have already registered as part of this outreach, and reminded students that those turning 18 before next year’s general election may register in advance. Eligible individuals can complete their registration online at GoVoteWV.com.
