PARKERSBURG, WV — Wood County Schools confirms that a police situation involving an armed suspect in the 700 block of 30th Street has been safely resolved. The suspect is now in custody, and law enforcement has lifted the secured perimeter.
Out of an abundance of caution, the school system worked closely with local law enforcement while the situation was ongoing to ensure the safety of students and staff, particularly those who live or travel within the affected area.
All students and staff remained safe throughout the incident. Bus transportation will operate as normal.
