Clouds and the threat of rain couldn't dampen the spirit of Williamstown High School's graduation ceremony Wednesday evening, as students, families, and faculty gathered to mark the milestone occasion.
The stands filled quickly with proud relatives and friends, all eager to watch their graduates walk across the stage to collect diplomas they had worked so hard to earn.
District and school leadership turned out in full force for the event. Board of Education President Justin Raber was joined by board members Judy Johnson, Randy Modesitt, and Ron Tice. Superintendent Christie Willis attended alongside Principal Jill Bryant, Assistant Principals Cindi Taylor and Joe Britton, Assistant Superintendents Kaleb Lawrence and Justin Hartshorn, Director of Elementary Schools Heather Grant, Director of Secondary Schools Jeff Kisner, and Director of Career and Technical Education Dr. Jason Hughes.
The ceremony was also live streamed, courtesy of CAS Cable.
The ceremony's emotional highlight came during the student addresses, delivered by Grace Boone and Keatyn Haynes. The two seniors offered heartfelt words of encouragement to their classmates, urging them to step boldly into their futures, extend grace to themselves and those around them, and never lose sight of their roots — because no matter where life takes them, Williamstown will always be home.
