At a recent Wood County Schools Board of Education meeting, educators were recognized and celebrated for achieving one of the profession’s most distinguished accomplishments: earning or maintaining National Board Certification.

Presented by Ashlee Beatty, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the recognition honored teachers who have either achieved National Board Certification for the first time or successfully renewed their certification, reflecting a continued commitment to professional excellence and student success.

“Whether earning certification for their very first time or successfully maintaining their certification, these teachers have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching and learning,” Beatty shared during the presentation.

National Board Certification is a rigorous process that requires educators to engage in extensive reflection, professional growth, collaboration, and evidence-based instructional practices. Teachers pursuing certification dedicate significant time and effort to refining their skills and strengthening their impact in the classroom.

Research has consistently shown that students taught by National Board Certified Teachers benefit from high-quality instruction, stronger academic growth, and classroom environments that promote engagement, critical thinking, and confidence.

“These educators model what it means to continuously learn, adapt, and refine their craft in order to meet the needs of every student,” Beatty said.

Wood County Schools also expressed appreciation to Jill Parsons and the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley for sponsoring the evening’s awards and helping recognize the accomplishments of these outstanding educators. Their partnership underscores the important connection between strong schools and strong communities.

“The support of the Chamber sends a powerful message that great schools and strong communities go hand in hand,” Beatty noted.

The influence of National Board Certified educators extends well beyond individual classrooms. Their dedication strengthens schools, empowers students, and contributes to the future success of the entire community.

Wood County Schools congratulates these exceptional educators and thanks them for their continued commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences for students across the district.
