Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday (Sept. 28, 2021) in regular session.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg, W.Va. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast online via Zoom.

The board will recognize county winners of the Vaping Prevention Poster Contest in partnership with Wood County Schools Drug Prevention Council and Wood County Drug Prevention Coalition.

The board will receive presentations on construction projects from Assistant Superintendent Mike Fling and 2021 finance statements from Finance Director Whitni Kines.

In addition to approving personnel hires and changes, the board will consider two student expulsions, out of state tuition rates, and architectural and engineering design services for renovations at Blennerhassett Elementary School. 

The board will discuss bleachers at Williamstown High School and the 2022-23 school calendar.
