Wood BOE meets Wednesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Wednesday in regular session to receive updates and reports.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online. 

The board will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2023-24 school calendar. 

The board also will recognize bus operator Christina Deaton for her recent actions keeping a Wood County Schools student safe and the Williamstown High School boys and girls cross country teams for becoming state champions.

The board will receive a presentation on the West Virginia Safety Initiative “See Something, Send Something” app. In addition to financial and personnel matters, the board will consider the expulsion of a student and a settlement agreement on recent litigation.
