WCS to participate in Active Shooter Training Monday

PARKERSBURG - Wood County Schools, in cooperation with area law enforcement, will hold Active Shooter Training sessions at several schools Monday morning and afternoon.

Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, is a professional learning day for employees. Students will not be in school. The active shooter drills will help law enforcement and school employees prepare for the possibility of an active shooter situation. 

Drills will be held Monday morning at Gihon Elementary, Lubeck Elementary, Neale Elementary and VanDevender Middle schools.

Drills will be held Monday afternoon at Madison Elementary and Greenmont Elementary schools.

Residents may see increased emergency or police activity around these schools Monday morning and Monday afternoon. Agencies and 911 responders have been made aware of the training sessions. Residents do not need to call 911 during these training sessions.
