🎺🎼 Wood County fifth graders had the unique opportunity to enjoy a live performance by Ohio Brass, a talented ensemble from Ohio University! Students from across the district gathered to experience the power and excitement of brass music, learning about instruments, rhythm, and the joy of live performance. The Ohio Brass not only entertained—they inspired the next generation of musicians! Some of our very own fifth grade band members had the chance to play in the concert, as well! A big thank you to the musicians and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra Parkersburg who made this unforgettable event possible.

Wood County Schools would like to give special recognition to three outstanding educators for their impeccable dedication, patience, and unwavering support of our students with special needs. Mrs. Haught of Neale Elementary, Mrs. Lilly of Edison Elementary, and Mrs. Walker of Parkersburg High School exemplify the heart and commitment it takes to make a lasting difference in the lives of their students. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact they make every day across elementary, middle, and high school levels. View here: https://www.woodcountyschoolswv.com/page/special-education

Healthy tip for parents and guardians: Each of our buildings have water bottle filling stations. Be sure and send a refillable bottle with your child each day for them to be able to refill and hydrate while at school. (Bottles must have a closeable cap. ) This will be especially important as the weather begins to warm up and kiddos are outside for recess and activities, but it's a good practice year round. As always, thank you for helping us to keep our schools healthy places to learn!

As the doors of our beloved schools prepare to close for the final time, we pause to honor the memories held within these walls. For generations, these buildings have echoed with laughter, learning, and the spirit of community. We invite you to join us for one last walk through its halls—a chance to remember, to celebrate, and to say thank you to the place that helped shape so many lives. Welcome back.
